Actions Steps – Lesson One

What do I do with what I have learned?

Have confidence – Not in yourself. But in the work of Jesus. You have a savior who died for you, and you accepted this grace as the free gift that it is. Be confident and trust in what He has done.

Do not carry guilt – Again, Jesus has died for you so that you may have new life. It would be ironic for Him to die so that you could have life to the fullest, you accept His death as payment for your sins, and then you live with guilt. He died so we can be set free and have a restored relationship with our living Father as we were created to have.

Confess your sin daily – Confess your sin to God daily (or more regularly) to God, agree with Him that it is sin, thank Him for forgiving you, and ask Him to change your heart.

Be joyful – Your sins are forgiven! The son of God died for you. You yourself deserved death, but you have been given new life! Rejoice in this always.

Read God’s word – Start with the Gospel of John and read a chapter a day.  Use a modern English version such as the New International Version (NIV), the New American Standard (NAS), or the English Standard Version (ESV).

If you need help reading the Bible, then you can check out some helpful hints here {add hyperlink to study}.

Baptism – This will be addressed in our next study.  We encourage you to do the next study, and follow through with baptism as Jesus commands us.
